Jiri Kalfar is a fashion designer with many years of experience at home and abroad both as a dancer and then as a model. Fuelling his return to Prague was his ambition to utilize his years in the fashion industry and channel his creativity into a tangible form. By creating fashion itself, Jiri is able to give a voice to his vision. This journey began in his youth, when he sketched his own designs as a young boy. As a dancer he gained an invaluable understanding of both the human body and movement, which is reflected in his collections. His signature style is clean lines combined with an oversized look. He favours minimalist details and high quality natural materials such as silk satin, cotton, wool, and cashmere. There is a always a focus on timelessness and elegance. Jiri’s collection is best described by the phrases boho chic or bohemian elegance.
Within a short time Jiri has become a recognized name amongst Czech designers and his clientele is ever-growing. He is as well becoming the personal designer and stylist of choice to numerous Czech celebrities. His collection explores what happens when opposites collide. Perfection changes imperfections, short is long, the unknown becomes known, countryside morphs into the big city and past centuries meet nowadays. As always there is a strong emphasis on detail, but with this collection structured clean lines play alongside loose, uninhibited shapes. Oversized is mixed with body-defining form-fitting cuts.
