EN START-UP je prestižní módní soutěž pro studenty a čerstvé absolventy oděvních a uměleckých škol na území České a Slovenské republiky.
Soutěž je tematická, pro rok 2013 byl vyhlášen BOD ZRODU.
Důraz je kladen zejména na kreativitu, uchopení a ztvárnění tématu, zpracování použitých materiálů a celkovou skladbu i styling prezentované kolekce.
Odborná porota vybírá z přihlášených adeptů 10 finalistů v kategorii oděv a oděvní doplněk. Ti mají šanci prezentovat své kolekce na závěrečném večeru Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekendu.
Vítězové pak získávají odměnu ve výši 100 resp. 50 tis. Kč pro každou kategorii a možnost bezplatně prezentovat svou příští kolekci jako samostatnou přehlídku na MBPFW a BFW 2014.
Markéta Martišková, student of the Royal Academy of Fine Art and Design Antwerp, has won the clothing category of START-UP. Talented designer receives a cash prize of 100,000 CZK. Markéta Šohajová, a student of Academy of Arts, Studio of Fashion and Shoe Design lead by Liběna Rochová, won the category of clothing accessories and was awarded with a cash prize of 50,000 CZK.

CLOTHING CATEGORY: Kristýna Javůrková, Adam Kost, Hana Prchalová and Antonín Šimon are becoming finalist with their men’s collections. Women’s collections will be during the final evening presented by: Mário Habovský, Alice Banóová, Libor Komosný, Monika Nováková & Zuzana Beránková, Pavelk Berky, Jana Mikešová, Daniela Pešková, Klára Válková and Markéta Martišková.

The jury of START-UP 2013 will consist of: Jimmy Choo, an honorary member of the jury, Liběna Rochová, Head of Design Studio footwear and apparel at Academy of Arts, Helena Jarošová, lecturer at the Department of Aesthetics at Charles University, Andrea Běhounková, editor of ELLE, Dana Kleinert, Slovak fashion Council, Marcel W. Holubec, fashion designer, Marika Majorová, blogger and Janina Šlemínová, MBPFW producer.
START-UP is a prestigious fashion competition for students and recent graduates of art and textile schools, colleges and universities in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The competition is thematic, the 2013 theme is POINT OF BIRTH. Emphasis is placed on fashion creativity, the way individual competitor handles the topic, materials processing and the overall composition and styling of presented collection. START-UP jury chooses 10 finalists for each category – Clothing and Fashion accessory – from among the applicants. Finalists’ collections are presented during the final evening of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend. The winners receive a cash prize of 100 and 50 thousands CZK. Applications deadline is 7 June 2013.
