  • BFW 2013 to feature more than 25 designers from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Israel

    The names of fashion designers who will introduce their collections at BFW 2013 are already known. At the moment, there are 20 Slovak and Czech designers have confirmed their participation similarly to a number of interesting brands. Bratislava Fashion Weekend will welcome Fero Mikloško, Boris Hanečka, Marcel Holubec W., Lukáš Kimlička, Lenka Sršňová and others. As far as brands are concerned, there will be La Femme and Pietro Filipi. The luxurious segment will be represented by DUSNI3 concept and others. The programme is being continuously updated, and the final agenda will be introduced in the end of August.

  • Bratislava Fashion Weekend 2013 will be a DROP BETTER than last year!

    The Bratislava Fashion Weekend 2013 fashion weekend will be enhanced by a new charitable purpose. The BFW 2013 organisers agreed to cooperate with the Kvapka nádeje (Drop of Hope) foundation with the aim to raise funds for the support of its activities. The donations will help mainly young haematology and oncology patients.

    An innovation in the BFW 2013 programme is a charitable bazaar organised jointly with Kvapka nádeje, which may be joined by the participating designers, fashion brands, and celebrities. All they have to do in order to take part is to donate a part of their wardrobe or collection to the bazaar, which will offer the donated clothing during the BFW 2013. All proceeds will be paid onto the bank account of Kvapka nádeje.

  • BFW 2013 opens its catwalk to beginning designers, too

    The most prestigious fashion project in Slovakia – Bratislava Fashion Weekend 2013 – offers a unique opportunity to students and graduates from fashion and art schools to prove their talent. Also this year, the organisers of the Prague and Bratislava Fashion Weekends have announced the thematic completion entitled START-UP, which enables young designers to get their foot in the door of fashion business.
    This year, the theme of the START-UP 2013 competition is ‘Point of Birth’. Similarly to last year, there are 2 categories – Clothing, and Fashion Accessory. In the first phase, an expert jury will select the ten best projects in the Clothing category and five best projects in the Fashion Accessory category from all submissions. Subsequently, the finalists will be given the opportunity to execute their proposals. The results of their work in the form of a final collection will be presented within the competition evening at Prague Fashion Weekend (September 18-22, 2013) or the special START-UP evening at Bratislava Fashion Weekend (October 3-6, 2013). The winners will receive prize money in the amount of € 4,000 (Clothing category) or € 2,000 (Fashion Accessory category).
    The chance to join the competition is offered to students and fresh graduates from fashion and art secondary schools, colleges and universities located in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. For graduates there is an age limit of 26 years that has to be met at the moment of submitting the entry.

  • Viera Schottertová to be the face of Bratislava Fashion Weekend 2013

    The face of the third annual Bratislava Fashion Weekend project is the Slovak top model Viera Schotterová, accepting the torch from Simona Krainová. Viera is one of the most successful Slovak models. In 1997, at the age of 15 she won a prestigious modelling contest that enabled her to get her foot in the door of the global modelling business. Soon afterwards she moved to New York where she spent 12 years. During her successful career she worked for globally recognised brands and as the only Slovak she was involved in more than 50 global campaigns including work for Chanel, Armani, Gant or Victoria’s Secret. Together with Karolína Kurková she is one of the only two Czech and Slovak models who received the invitation to be featured in campaigns for the Mango fashion brand.

  • BFW 2013 again next to Eurovea

    Bratislava Fashion Weekend 2013 (BFW 2013) presents already the third annual round of the most prestigious fashion event in Slovakia. Also this year, the fashion shows will take place in a stylish tent with the capacity of 600 people located directly on the bank of Danube next to the EUROVEA shopping mall, which is also the main partner o the project. Compared to last year, the space for the presentation of fashion, beauty and style has grown even bigger – with an enlarged Fashion Lounge, newly added sales showroom and programme enhanced with various exhibitions and panel discussions.

  • BFW already for the third time in Slovakia
