Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend ended on Sunday with the award ceremony of START-UP, young fashion designers competition. The evening also hosted guests from Malaysia. MBPFW took place on 18 – 22 September 2013 in a fashion tent in Parizska street, STUDIO in Salvátorská 8 and several other locations in the historic centre of Prague. The event attracted more than seventeen thousand people this year, and was enriched by the visit of a global fashion icon, Jimmy Choo, who came to Prague with his family. MBPFW 2013 was also visited by other foreign personalities and media representatives, mainly from Great Britain, Austria, Germany, Italy and Malaysia.
At a press conference held today in the InterContinental hotel the face of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend 2013 was introduced. After last year’s campaign featuring Simona Krainová, the torch is now passed on to the Slovak top model Viera Schottertová. The Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend project has grown bigger with more than 35 Czech designers and 7 fashion brands confirming their participation. The accompanying programme includes Fashion Showroom, exhibitions, and competitions seeking to support young fashion designers as well as fashion photographers to name just a few highlights.
This year, Prague Fashion Weekend has joined the global network of Mercedes-Benz fashion weeks. This means Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend substantially strengthens its position, and is able to announce the first star in fashion design accepting the invitation to join the event – it is Jimmy Choo who will come to the Czech Republic. In Prague, Jimmy Choo will support young fashion designers, accompany the winner of Mercedes-Benz STYLO Awards Kuala Lumpur, and accept the patronage of an accompanying activity within the fashion event.
The biggest fashion event of this year’s autumn, Prague Fashion Weekend, has joined the global network of Mercedes-Benz fashion weeks. At a ceremonial evening for invited guests, an exclusive contract between Prague Fashion Weekend and the Mercedes-Benz brand was concluded. Mr Florian Müller, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Czech Republic and Ms Janina Šlemínová, managing director of Prague Fashion Weekend, introduced the new logo of the event and its official name, Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend.
